Cardinal CSD 5th Grade Teacher, Miss Guiter

posted September 16, 2022

Candice Guiter is joining the Cardinal team to teach social studies and literacy. We are so excited to have her teaching our students! You may recognize her as a volleyball coach, a former para, or from student council. We asked her some questions so you could get to know her a bit as the school year begins.

Why did you want to teach at Cardinal?

I went to school at Cardinal and have worked here as a para. I also coach Volleyball and am in charge of the Student Council — I love our community and loved the idea of having a larger role in it.

How long have you been teaching?
This is my first year.

What do you like about teaching Social Studies and Literacy?

I am passionate about both social studies and literacy, and I am excited to engage students in fun, meaningful lessons.

What is your favorite part of being a teacher?

Connecting with students and helping them achieve their goals!

What is your ultimate goal as a teacher?

To help students succeed and reach their goals, as well as create long lasting relationships with students, their parents and staff!

What do you hope students take away from your class this year?

My hope is students walk away from my class with the feeling of success in their learning, and an excitement for learning social studies and literacy in 6th grade.

Fun Facts/Hobbies:

I am a 2017 Cardinal Alumni — so you will see me at the homecoming game this year as we celebrate our five year reunion! I have a daughter, Penelope, and I am expecting my second in February. I am passionate about the Cardinal school district, and I am excited to teach here!

From our first interaction with the staff at Cardinal schools, we felt at home. The entire staff is amazing and we feel that we have a trusted partner in our children’s education. The greatest testament to their success is that our kids love going to school. There is nothing more welcoming as a parent than to have a school that you trust to take care of the most precious thing in your life. Cardinal School District does just that.
