Nomination Papers Due September 21
Every two years we hold School Board elections and this year Cardinal Community School District will have three open seats on the ballot. All three seats are for four-year terms. School Board volunteers are highly valued leaders in our district as they are elected to represent what is best for students, families, and staff. Board members volunteer their time by attending, collaborating, and leading board meetings and work sessions that focus on developing effective policies, establishing efficient budgets, and advocating for high-quality public education that prepares our students for success.
If you are interested in seeking a seat on the school board
- Review information about school elections provided by the Iowa Association of School Boards and the Iowa Secretary of State. Materials are also available at the Cardinal School District Administrative Office.
- First day for candidates to file nomination papers with the CCSD Board Secretary Jacki Grant is Monday, August 28, 2023.
Candidate Filing Deadline
Nomination papers are due to CCSD Board Secretary Jacki Grant, by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023.
School Board Election Day is Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Polls open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
