What We Learned

Financial Literacy

Through real-life scenarios, students had the opportunity to explore financial life events they might encounter after high school. They learned how to build a practical budget, plan for savings, and financial safety to help them navigate the financial responsibilities of adulthood. The students each created a Personal Financial Plan, which they presented to their classes.

Career Development Conference 2025

We had 3 students selected to participate in this year's iJAG Career Development Conference in Ames on March 4th at the Iowa State Campus. These students competed against about 200 other 11th - 12th graders in Iowa. Lily Van Trump competed in the Employability Skills Event.

Brinleigh Sparks participated in the Career Prep event and Drakan Swain participated in the Financial Literacy event. Kenna Ware was chosen to assist at the event as a Student Ambassador. Although they did not win a chance to go to iJAG Nationals, they all represented Cardinal in a positive and professional way.

Career Pathways

The PBL unit will incorporate a combination of interactive lesson and reflective activities. This unit is designed to empower students to explore, discover and pursue their career aspirations through work based learning. Work Base Learning is project based learning with partnership with an employer, simulated work experiences aligned with industry recognized credentials, high quality preapprenticeships aligned with apprenticeships, student learner programs, internships and apprenticeships. The whole goal of this unit is that every iJAG student completes a Work Based Learning experience. More information to come after Spring Break.
