Gracia De Boer is joining the Cardinal team to teach 6th grade ELA and social studies. We are so excited to have her teaching our students! We asked her some questions so you could get to know her a bit before the school year begins.

Why did you want to teach at Cardinal?
Initially to move closer to family, but now I'm so excited to join what already feels like a family!

How long have you been teaching?
Four years

What do you like about teaching 6th grade?
I've been teaching 6th grade for four years, and I love seeing them start to grow into amazing young men and women!

What is your favorite part of being a teacher?
That "lightbulb" moment when something clicks for a student.

What is your ultimate goal as a teacher?
To make a difference in the lives of the next generation.

What do you hope students take away from your class this year?
The ability to try new things without fear of failure.

Fun Facts/Hobbies:
During the summer, I work for a camp where I am the camp cook!
