We are excited for Shea Swafford to join our team this year to teach social studies and step into the role of MS Wrestling and Assistant HS Football Coach. We hope you’ll stop and say hello if you see him on campus! Get to know him ahead of the new school year by reading his answers to a few questions below.

Why did you want to teach at Cardinal?
New opportunity to succeed in a new place.

What do you like about teaching social studies?
Human behavior is fascinating to me. With that being said, so is human growth and I get to witness growth first hand as a teacher.

What is your favorite part of teaching?
Connecting and building relationships with students, teachers, administration, and coaches. I just love people.

What is your ultimate goal as a teacher?
Seems simple and broad but nonetheless, it’s powerful. I want to help others.

What do you hope students take away from your class this year?
The ability of having fun while learning or at least making learning fun. I also hope they take away a taste of hard work as that will benefit them in most facets of life.

Fun Facts/Hobbies:
I’m a big combat sports fan. Kansas City Chiefs and Saint Louis Cardinals for life. Big movies and music guy. I love talking to people so say hi!

From our first interaction with the staff at Cardinal schools, we felt at home. The entire staff is amazing and we feel that we have a trusted partner in our children’s education. The greatest testament to their success is that our kids love going to school. There is nothing more welcoming as a parent than to have a school that you trust to take care of the most precious thing in your life. Cardinal School District does just that.
