Team members putting together meals during the Cardinal CSD Summer Food Program. This summer, we've been hard at work ensuring that our students stay nourished and healthy even while school is out. From June 1 to July 31, we are proud to have served 24,752 meals to children in our community.

Over the course of these two months, we've provided over 10,000 pounds of lunch items and more than 3,000 pounds of fresh produce. We distributed 108 cases of cereal bars, 63 cases of craisins, 117 cases of cereal, 63 cases of pop tarts, 360 cases of juice, and 63 cases of apple sauce.

And let’s not forget the nearly 2,000 gallons of milk served, ensuring that our students receive essential nutrients during these crucial growing years.

Assembling these meals is no small task — it takes a dedicated team of three to five staff members working seven hours each week to put together 2,975 meals. Their hard work and dedication are truly commendable, and we are grateful for their commitment to our students.

The mission of the Cardinal Community School is to foster an enriching environment and channel the energies of students to achieve their fullest potential.
