Summer Meal Program Serves 24,000+ Meals
This summer, the staff was hard at work ensuring that our students stay nourished and healthy even while school is out. From June 1 to July 31, we are proud to have served 24,752 meals to children in our community. |
Summer Learning Success with our Elementary Phonics Program
This summer, our school district has been dedicated to continuing our students' education with a focus on foundational skills. In June, we trained seven of our talented elementary teachers to teach for our summer program, specifically designed for students entering 2nd and 3rd grade. The program is centered around a research-based phonics curriculum to help our young learners build strong reading skills. |
Cardinal CSD was one of 41 elementary schools that were awarded grants from the Iowa Department of Education to expand summer reading programs! |
The Iowa Department of Education, Bureau of Nutrition and Health Services, has finalized its policy for free and reduced-price meals for students unable to pay the full price of meals served under the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Special Milk Program and the Afterschool Care Snack Program. |
